EPICA’s 8th album Ωmega is out and it’s AH-MAZING!!!
I didn’t expect anything less from my favorite Dutch symphonic metal band, but it’s always very exciting to listen to new music, and this is one of those albums that is an instant it. ALL tracks are amazing. They are very catchy, but in a good metal Epica kinda way. They stay true to their sound and all typical elements can be heard. Latin choirs, complex lyrics, Simone singing high, low, normal, Mark with his aggressive grunts, symphonic melodies that awake emotions you didn’t even know you had, the other guys in the band with their amazing solos, the orchestra… it’s a lot, but it all fits together like a perfect puzzle.
I cannot wait to heard these songs live. I can already imagine the light show and the flames when Mark grunts and roars. And I can already imagine Simone, Rob and Isaac head banging, Arien going crazy behind the drums, and Coen jumping behind his keyboard.
There are also 3 amazing music videos, with very… interesting outfits. Haha.
In the words of Simone during the Retrospect concert: it’s good to be alive.
Yes, EPICA has amazing music and it’s great to finally hear it.
