It’s Saturday evening and my best friend and I didn’t feel like staying at home. We also didn’t know where we wanted to go exactly, so I decided to pick her up and we would just drive around and see where we’d end up. I first had the idea to go visit another friend of mine, but his phone was switched of and I had no other was to contact him, because obviously he would also be not at home. So we just drove around and while near the Courtyard Marriot Hotel Suriname I remember this great Cosmopolitan cocktail I had. I’m sure that Dominique would love it too, so we stopped there and went to hang at the bar. After having ordered the cocktails I started looking around the hotel lobby.
The bright lights, the people dining in the restaurant, the soft music playing, the elegant dressed hotel personnel, the bag trolleys, the ringing of the elevator bell and suddenly it hit me…
I MISS MY OLD JOB AT GARDEN HOTEL SURINAME 🙁
Okay, if any of my current colleagues happen to be reading this, don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.
I just had a little moment of weakness and sudden realization.
I miss the excitement of the job. Waking up in the morning and getting ready for work, not knowing what this day will
bring to you! The thought of meeting new interesting people, with a foreign language, a different culture and stories from back home, are part of the thrill of the job.
These are the things which I often miss when I’m sitting behind the desk at my current job. All of this is not what I experience anymore. Now it’s just me and a laptop and a few colleges in the room, but that’s it; nothing new and basically the same every single day.
I won’t quit my job or whatever. I’m just saying that I miss the excitement. I’m allowed to, am I not? Besides, my current job offers me a lot more advantages over the old one, so I’m staying there for the next few years. Until I go mad and decided to just walk away from it all. :-p
