Dear Diary… oops, wrong app.
Dear readers… you know, those two that are actually reading this…
Okay, enough joking around.
To those still reading… wow, you really must have nothing better to do, huh? 😀
Okay, seriously now!!
I am here writing from the Public Library in Amsterdam.
I cannot remember the last time I was in a library. I’ve been inside this library before a few years ago, but that was only to pick up something. Today I am actually here for the content of the library.
As I already mentioned I am back in Amsterdam; my “home”.
Not officially, but to this day it still feels like it and I doubt this feeling will ever fade away.
I’ve been here for 2.5 weeks now and have to fly back to my official-home in exactly 10 days.
Time flies. Times flies so goddamn fast that it’s not even normal.
What am I doing here in Amsterdam? NOTHING…
Yes, that is the honest answer.
The past few months I have been so busy that I just needed a break. I needed a break from my life and just wanted to do nothing for an entire month… which is exactly what I am doing here in this fine city that I love so much.
From the lack of blog updates it can be concluded that I didn’t have much free time.
Up until 2 days before my flight I had been extremely busy. Mostly with achieving my bachelor’s degree in Technology… and well, I did it! FINALLY. It has been a long run, but it finally is over.
I presented my thesis on May 19, 2017 and 2 days later I flew here to Amsterdam for a month to just rest and try to figure out what to do with the rest of my life.
Besides my studies, I have also been utterly busy with my day job as an ERP consultant, my freelance work as a web designer and in between that also try to make time for my friends, work out and sleep from time to time. Also my older brother got married a few days before I left so that was another interesting event.
But now I am here and although I am not doing much, it is exactly what I wanted to do.
What have I done so far?
- Lots of birthday parties
- Visited friends
- Went to the beach
- Went out… well one time
- Lots of drinks in lounge bars (yes I am that old)
- Walked a lot… like seriously A LOT here in Amsterdam
- Caught up on some TV shows
- And finally got me an average sleep of 7 hours a day
Next week I am going to see my favorite band Epica again live for the sixth time and after that I have one week left and then fly back to my little old town and very stressful life.
But I currently have no complaints. No complaints whatsoever and after the year I’ve had, I wouldn’t wish for anything else.
I am AmsterHOME!!! 🙂
